Monsters and Myths

In August 2005 Fusion worked with 20 young people at the Ropewalk in Barton Upon Humber.
The project was entitled 'Monsters and Myths' and the children took part in creating a small piece of promenade theatre incorporating puppetry, live music and various drama skills which they had learned throughout the week.
Most of all everyone had a lot of fun! We played games and teambuilding exercises every day and the children's input to the final story was vital.

On the last day we performed our piece around the Ropewalk to an audience of family and friends, telling the story of Susie, a little green monster, who was struggling to fit in. Each gang or family of monsters and dragons had their own costumes and sound effects which the children had created themselves! The finale saw Susie find her place with a group of small green characters just like herself!

We were lucky to have musician Heather Pearson working with us as well as our trainee workshop leader Brett King and Kayleigh from Barton who joined us for work experience.
