Adult Child / Dead Child

Fusion worked with members of the Caxton Youth Theatre to produce Claire Dowie's award winning script 'Adult Child / Dead Child' telling the story of a young woman suffering mental illness.
'An engrossing piece of drama that grabs your total attention...physical, demanding and a big success'
The Grimsby Evening Telegraph
A combination of poetry, monologue and physical theatre, this powerful and thought provoking play was brought to life by two young actresses, Katie Coulthwaite (15) and Gemma Clark (16).
Funded by the Arts Council England, we also used this project to train 3 young people to work backstage and with sound and lights. Brett King designed and operated lighting at just 13 years old, Heather Pearson (a local musician) designed and operated sound aged 16 and Colette Stirling, 15 years old was our dedicated stage manager and often filled in if either of the actors couldnt make a rehearsal!
This production was a wonderful experience for all involved and we received some great feedback. As well as the 3 public performance we also held a special preview performance for the local youth services, which included a chat back with the actresses at the end of the evening.
