A Midsummer Nights Dream - Summer School 2006
The multi award winning Fusion Youth Theatre are offering young people the chance to take part in another large scale project - A Midsummer Nights Dream!!
Young People are invited to participate in this years summer school with Fusion Youth Theatre.
A Midsummer Nights Dream will be an adapted version of Shakespeares popular comedy, using modern language mixed with some traditional text this version will be enjoyable for all young people interested in performing!
The summer school will take place Monday 14th - Thursday 24th August. Rehearsals will take place at the Grimsby Central Hall, weekdays from 10am-4pm.
Matinee and Evening Performances on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th August.
We are holding two introductory workshops for the show on Wednesday 5th and Wednesday 12th July, 6pm-9pm at the Grimsby Central Hall. With opportunities to learn about the story and parts involved, watch a short performance of the piece and get involved in drama games & activities!
The show will involve drama, comedy, art, live music, song & dance, puppetry, clowning and physical theatre and the chance to perform at the Skegness Youth Drama Festival in October.
We are aware that a lot of children have other commitments across summer and so they may not be present for all rehearsals, an attendance form is included with our application pack so you can let us know if you have any holidays or projects already booked!
There will be something for everyone in this exciting project!

HAVE A DREAM OF A SUMMER BREAK
Help transform Grimsby into a Midsummer Night's Dream. The award-winning Fusion Youth Theatre is hunting for thespians to take part in the Shakespearean romantic comedy this Summer.
Staged as part of the huge Arts Forum Festival 2006 - which promises to be one of the largest arts events ever staged in the region - the company is looking for talent to set the stage alive. Director of the multi-award winning Fusion Youth Theatre Emma Nicholson said: "A Midsummer Night's Dream will be an adapted version of Shakespeare's popular comedy. Using modern language mixed with some traditional text this version will be enjoyable for all young people interested in performing."
Hesitant performers can go to preview workshops before taking the final plunge.
Two introductory sessions will familiarise people with the play and its characters. They can watch a short performance of the piece and get involved in drama games and activities.
