Casting notice for “Tinman”

Thin Red Line is starting pre-production on it's second short film, “Tinman”, a hard-hitting story of repression and alienation.
We are seeking cast and crew members to work on this short with us.

Synopsis

Martin's life is uneventful and unfulfilling. His job is dull, and when he comes home after work his wife is cold and harsh towards him. His time is also taken up looking after an old lady who lives next door.
One day, Martin is pushed over the edge, and the frustration in his life spills out in a horiffic act of violence.

Cast required

Martin - male, late 20s/early 30s

Elaine - female, late 20s/early 30s

Mrs Smith - female, 60s/70s

About the shoot

The plan is that we will:
– hold auditions for cast/crew in early February
– rehearse in the third week of March (probably 2 days)
– shoot in the last week of March (probably 3 days)

We are planning to shoot with either a Sony HVR-Z1E or a Panasonic HVX200. Sound will be recorded onto the camera rather than a separate device. Lighting will most likely be a set of redheads.
These positions will be paid – not a lot, but hopefully enough to cover costs with a little on top (and you'll get a copy of the film on DVD, of course).

The finished film

The film will be certified by the BBFC and copies will be placed in Lincolnshire Libraries. We're aiming to hold screenings locally, as well as making the film available to download and view in a number of formats. We're also hoping to secure screenings at some of the usual UK festivals.

About us

“Tinman” is being produced by some people who've enjoyed making short drama films in their spare time, and who are now looking to produce work at a higher quality.
This is our second drama film as a professional company, and we think that making it will be a fun experience, as well as producing something memorable to watch at the end.
